This spring, North Carolina filmmaker Joshua J Mills will embark on a ground-breaking community filmmaking project called the Two-week Turnaround Tour. The Two-week Turnaround Tour (also known as T3) is a product of Filmblazer and will include stops in 14 cities in seven months. At each stop, the T3 team will work for two weeks with local filmmakers to write, shoot and screen a short fiction film.
T3 will come to Portland, Maine on October 12-25, 2009. Mills has been a filmmaker since studying at North Carolina State University. Mills, with his girlfriend Jamie Blankenship, developed the idea of T3 early last year. Their goal is to create a nation-wide network for artistic collaboration that includes independent artists, filmmakers and film enthusiasts.
At each city stop, T3 will hold a meet-and-greet event allowing city team members to show their previous work and be assigned a specific role in the production. During the two weeks of production, T3 will utilize as much of the host city as possible, drawing from its culture and style. At the end of each two-week production period, the film will premiere in the host city. The events will also be broadcast live online. As they travel across the United States - confined in a RV- Mills and Blankenship will document the tour on Filmblazer.com through a weekly audio podcast, behind-the-scenes footage and a daily blog. The Two-week Turnaround Tour will launch in Greensboro March 27. For more information visit www.filmblazer.com
